Hi all -

The reprint of Compendium of Seashells is just that - a reprint of the last
edition. The only changes that have been made are to the cover design and
the few pages, in order to incorporate the information previously on the
dust jacket. The entire text & all photos are identical to the last
edition. This was just confirmed by the publisher, John Jackson at Odyssey
Publishing, this morning.

Many of you have been asking for the following details on this popular
book:

COMPENDIUM OF SEASHELLS
by R. T. Abbott & S. P. Dance
Illustrates 4200 shells, each in a separate 1½" x 2¼" full color photo.
Scientific & popular names, author, date, average size, distribution range,
general habitat, rarity & synonomy are placed under each photo for
convenience of use. Includes taxonomic listing of Mollusca, bibliography,
& 7500-entry index. This is the best quick-reference source book for
museums, colleges and shell collectors. 1998 reprint, first published
1982, hardbound, 411pp, 8½" x 11"

Regards,
