Another question would be whether the patient's vomiting was the result of
ingesting the slug.  Does this species produce any toxins as a means of
protection from predators?  Do animals or birds eat this species?  I have
seen frogs snap up slugs, only to immediately spit them out, followed by
movements indicating some very unpleasant oral sensation.
