Dear Elizabeth,
 
The Compendium of Seashells by R. Tucker Abbott and S. Peter Dance (which is
in the posess of the Natural History Department of the Tiroler Landesmuseum
Ferdinandeum)
is the third (revised) printing of 1986 and was
the second printing was 1983
but I can't find any date of the first print, sorry
