I also would be very pleased to learn the history of these names.
Many people have met once a "pardalis" without knowing what this was
exactly; and if Schilderniana means the big, big hawaiian tigris, what
about the P.I giant shells which are sold here and there in shell shows ?
Most of these P.I. giants are not very heavy (regarding to their sizes)...
Is a schilderiana a big heavy shell ?
Internet Hawaiian shell news delivers some schilderiana infos.

engine for many infos about this name.
Most of times, people don't agree on the validity of this subspecies.
