I got a collection of cowries which were in a basement for years.
They are cloudy, hazy. How can I clean them without damaging them?

With them came many murex. Can I soak these in 50% clorox? How strongly can I pick away at the calcium deposits without damaging the fronds? Can you suggest any common place tool?

Can you recommend some websites for ID? Many are very cumbersome, and it seems to take forever to get through a species.
