Hi everyone,

My name is John Pfeiffer, I am a undergraduate student at Northern
Michigan University and a recent addition to the server. I have been
interested in many aspects of malacology for two years, but especially
freshwater mussels of North America.

I am interested in building a collection of freshwater mussels of North
America. Could anyone advise me in the best way of obtaining these
types of shells. I would like to create this collection for my
university. Would it be easier to start a collection if it was
affiliated with my university, perhaps this way other universities or
museums would be more likly to donate or sell shells. The advice would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
