Oliver,

There is only one creationist organization I know of out there that does not
try to twist science to fit a young earth agenda. www.reasons.org

They build testable and predictable scientific models for any theories they
have, and embrace cutting edge discoveries in science.  They give good
discussions on papers as they are released form the cosmological, physics,
and biological communities.  Whether you agree with their points of views on
the findings, there is no bad science being practiced there. (if new
evidence proves their model's premises inaccurate, they change their model
to match the science)

There are on the other hand others, such as the one in Glen rose, who's
science more resembles a circus act.

Fossil figs have been known for some time: On Cretaceous and Paleogene
fruits from Kansas, see Graham, A. Journal of Paleontology, 36: 521-523,
1962. However, Graham's paper shows differences from modern figs sufficient
to place the fossil forms in a genus other from Ficus.
