I see rams horn snails doing this frequently in my aquaria.

Best wishes,

Subject: [CONCH-L] odd snail observation

Yesterday, I saw a small freshwater snail in a ditch down the road. It
was crawling rapidly just below the water surface, with its foot
facing upwards: it appeared to be crawling on the surface tension of
the water. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Cheers,
James
