should be the freshwater mollusks bibliography website.  I can't get
it to load on the wireless connection that I am on at the moment, but
it is a very useful resource on freshwater mollusks generally, with a
bit of other mollusks in there as well.

http://www.lsc.usgs.gov/aeb/2068/mussel_index.asp has a number of
mussel protocol references, most of which can be downloaded from the
site.

Freshwater snail survey protocols have not been as standardized, in
general.  However, there are some specific studies out there.
