Yesterday, I found a valve of an ark, probably Anadara, on Topsail Island, North Carolina. Very solid, inflated, almost cuboidal. Beak faces anteriorly. Length 40mm, height 43mm. I assume this is a fossil...or I need to go back to Golden Guide Seashells 101.

My search on the internet was not helpful. Is there a good general reference, either on the internet or in book form?
