Subject: cleaning and restoring conch shells

I recently found several nice, large specimens of the conch shell.
They are
in very nice shape but do have some shells attached still. I have
cleaned
them but would like to know the best way to restore them and clean them
so
that I may display them properly, and so that they look the best that
they
possibly can. If you could give me your advice or recomend some books
that
would be of help I would greatly appreciate it. I am also intersted in
the
reproduction and growth of shells, if you know of any insightful books I
would
appreciate your help in passing along the titles. Thank You for your
time.
Sincerely, psuhoop

From: [log in to unmask]

Hello my name is Theresa and I am a high school student doing a
report
on the conch shell and how it produces its trumpet like sound. If you
could
please e-mail me back with any info at all I would greatly appreciate
it. Even
if you just had a photo or drawing of the inside stucture of the conch
you
would help me tremendously!!!

                                        Thanks,
                                          Theresa:)
