Dear colleague,
I am doing a simulation of long-term wheat-based cropping systems in Syria
using DSSAT sequence module. One of the crops in the rotation is chickpea.
When DSSAT runs to chickpea module, chickpea dies due to frost in winter.
This is not the case in Syria and chickpea grain yield was between 420 and
1300 kg/ha. Although chickpea is usually planted in early spring in Northern
Syria, ICARDA has demonstrated that winter sowing chickpea has significantly
improved crop yield. The lowest temperature experience by chickpea was about
-9 degrees. I wonder if in the chickpea module has set a critical
temperature of 0 for crop to die. Is there anyway to change parameters in
crop genotype coefficients to let crop survive the frost? Your help will be
appreciated.
