Dear Larry (Watrous),

Leslie Hubricht opined that Columella tridentata Leonard, 1946 was a "rare
aberration" of Gastrocopta ruidosensis (Cockerell, 1899) in:

Hubricht, L., 1972. Gastrocopta armifera (Say). Nautilus 85(3): 73-78. Jan.

In the same paper he also synonymized G. proarmifera Leonard, 1946 with G. r.

As of 1985, none of these synonymous taxa had been found above Pleistocene
strata. (Hubricht, L., 1985, The distributions of the native land mollusks
of the Eastern United States. Fieldiana 24(1359): pp. 1-191 + viii. June 28).

If these works aren't available to you, I'd be happy to send photocopies
(of the paper and the passage in the monograph) if you wish.

Harry
