Why does one never hear about or from shell collectors in the world's
most populated country, China??? During the Cultural Revolution and for
years afterwards, they were largely cut off from the world, but that is
no longer the case. Also, they live next door to the most enthusiastic
collectors in the world- the Japaneese! There are many avid collectors
in Taiwan, which until 1948, shared the same cultural context as
mainland China, so why the discrepancy? Please- this is something i
have wondered about for many years: if anybody has information, let's
hear it!!
