Reviving the sting thread for one last hurrah - there is a new product out called "safesea" that is a sting preventative.  It is a lotion that is available with or without sunscreen, and is supposed to be extremely effective - especially against sea lice.  Check your local dive shops, or online - they have a website, but I don't know the address.
