there is a description and account of the Atlantic Lottia alveus, designated
extinct  and last recorded in 1929, on the Environment Canada- species at
risk website
www.speciesatrisk.gc.ca

Tom Rice's recent checklist of NE Pacific (Oregonian Province) molluscs has
2 subspecies:
Altantic eelgrass limpet Lottia alveus alveus (Conrad, 1831)
Pacific eelgrass limpet Lottia alveus parallela (Dall, 1914).
