Dear Patty,

There's a thread from at least a year ago re Bullia tranquebarica. My
question was: which is the real one? There's a Bullia by that name
illustrated in Kenneth Wye's Encyclopedia of Shells that has the proportions
of a large Terebra, compared with your stubbier Bullia. I was finding many
of the slenderer contenders at water's edge on the beach in Varkala, Kerala,
on the other side of the tip of southern India. Colors are quite variable in
the same locality.

There was no definitive resolution of this dilemma.

Maybe I can send you a scan of mine.
