Has anyone tried a sponging of Clorox on these chiggers? I know when I get red
ant bitten, frequently here in Florida, I usually douse the areas with Clorox
and the itching stops. This may have to be repeated again in a few hours or
the next day, but anyone who has gotten into a bed of red ants knows it is no
fun either. I also got stung by a saddleback caterpiller a year or so ago and
many calls to the extension service and Fish and Wildlife Dept. brought no
results. I tried the clorox after my arm started going numb and it worked
well, killed the poisons and everything was fine in just minutes. This also
works for Sea Lice. Just don't leave the Clorox on more than a few minutes or
it will also eat your skin.
