Dear Conchlers,

Just a reminder that the Philadelphia Shell Show will take place on October 7th and 8th (Columbus Day weekend), at the Academy of Natural Sciences, with all the usual features including the bourse and banquet in Dinosaur Hall. This year, our guest speaker will be Dr Baldomero 'Toto' Olivera of the University of Utah, the country's leading expert on cone shell venoms and their pharmaecutical applications. As anyone knows who has seen him in action, Toto gives the best talk in the business.
The banquet will also feature the second annual Conchological Dessert Contest, following the riotous success of the inaugural one in 2005.
