I'm a bit disappointed that no-one answered this message.

It's not much about specimen collecting, but very relevant to human use of
shellfish. I'm constantly amazed that local Filipino villagers regularly
hunt Lambis lambis (Gang-a) - and I do myself, but there always seem to be
plenty of them about - how?
