Psammophiles take note: we have a large collection of sand samples from all over the world that was donated to us for fund-raising purposes some years ago. It contains sand from many major deserts and from beaches all over the planet, all with good data. If anyone is interested in acquiring this collection, the proceeds will go to the Department to support our activities and especially our hosting of visiting researchers and students. Contact me off-list for more details and a catalog. If you know of any listservers to which Psammophiles might subscribe, please feel free to post this message there.

Regards,

PC.

There's a name for a sand collector? Psamophile!? Cool! How is that
pronounced? Sam-o-file?

I knew people collected grit, but I always figured it was to pick out the
biotic goodies, the micros and forams and whatnot. Guess I'd better guess
again.
