  Interesting testing.  Actually a double test in progress.

One could gather snails at one end of a property and then
mark and place them at the other end.  I have 7 acres so there
is some distance side to side and end to end.

Might do that on both ends or sides and have a convention of sorts
mid yard as they traverse the perils of the yard.

This could be a park exercise but one never knows what occurs in a park
that might change the results.
