        I usually put live molluscs (both land and marine) inside bags and
then place the bag in the freezer. It not only kills the animals, but also
preserve them until you have some spare time to defrost and get the animal
out. The remainings of the animal which do not come out can be destroyed
using hydrogen peroxide 30%. I believe that bleach must not be used on land
shells.
