Interesting observations, Leslie

In San Pedro Lagoon messorius likes that soft, silty sand, I guess. Also the
water is very calm. There isn't anyplace like that in the Yucatan - the bay
between mainland and reef is rough with coral sand. Perhaps there are areas
like that in Honduras near the mainland... Some of that coast is poorly
explored, with no access by road. There isn't generally much interest in
that habitat - we found only about 8 species over 1/2" long in the lagoon.
If the weather had been better we wouldn't have been there but out on the
reef!
