Hello,

Does anyone knows where I can find (and if it is true) the story about some
oil platform somewhere in Pacific where they had problems with coral weight
on the base so they decided to put starfish to eat it. Then they had trouble
with the quantity of starfish so they decide to put Charonia to eat the
starfish. Then the problem was they Charonia.
Is it true or not? Which book has the details?
I am trying to convince people here to not breed Achatina since many places
around the world had problems, and that the "solution" of using Euglandina
will kill many other species. I am having a lot of trouble because the
breeders are very strong and I need convincing arguments to tell them to not
interfere with Nature like that.

Marcus
