Dear Conchlers,

On our latest meeting, one of the members of our local shell group brought
along a strange suitcase.
Inside there was a shiny whith silk-like cloth, and in that were the
impressions (about 60) in the shape of shells. The impression of the top row
seemed to be made for Conidae, in the centre of the middle row was the
largest impression, distinctly for a Tridacna, and also the shape of a Ovula
ovum could be detected without difficulties.
On the outside of the suitcase there was an adress visible:
Paradise Shell Company
30, Hotel Road
Mount Lavina
Ceylon [now of course called Sri Lanka]
The suitcase is from probaly the 1930's. Unfortunately, none of the shells
is present any more.

Does anyone have some information about this suitcase? Was it something
that belonged to a salesman? What was the use?
Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
