Thank you to all the Conch-L members that answered my question on
Pachychilus glaphyrus. Richard Petit, Harry Lee, David Campbell, Leslie
Allen, Zoltan Eross, Kurt Auffenberg, and Kevin Cummings had great
suggestions for websites and spellings. I never expected such a wide range
of answers but have appreciated each as it gave me ideas, not only of
taxonomy but of archeology and practical uses of this species. I'm
especially interested in the idea of making Jute Snail Wine, as suggested
by one of the papers. Yummy?
Thank you again to the greatest listserve on the net.
Dan
p.s. I guess that now I'll have to find some books on fresh water mollusks.
