And just yesterday I heard an item on the radio saying that the scallop population in North Carolina is crashing due to the decimation of sharks and rays leading to the expansion of some predators in the middle of the food chain. I believe they said it was in Science magazine 'though I don't find it with their website search.

Does anyone have more specifics?
