Actually, I wish we had more show up in the US as I would like to run some
observational tests on them and get a few "in situ" photographs.  There is a
guy in Germany who has sent me a bunch of photos of different nerites in his
tanks.  He is really into crayfish (crawdads as we call them), but also has
quite a few different species of nerites in his aquariums.  His images are
really quite spectacular, check out: http://www.crusta10.de .  The pet trade
applies some ridiculous name, like bubble bee snail (Clithon diadema) and
then markets them.  It looks like a lot are coming out of Indonesia.

Thanks Tom and everybody. You're a treasure-trove of info. It's surprisingly
hard to find out details of freshwater gastropods. New ones for the pet
trade appear here all the time and I object, both ethically and
ecologically, to selling someone an unidentified animal.
