Using Google Earth :

49 13 15.06N 122 00 33.44W     that will get you in close.  Might in the
normal map.

Guayas    Guayaquil    Gulf of Guayaquil      I suspect it is verbal to
text issues.
Guayas is likely the location.

It might (no cite mentioned) be a language translation one or two times.
e.g. Spanish to Portuguese to English.

Either that or the town is so small It won't show up on maps of world
wide interest.

Good hunting - I'd put in Ecuador and get the country and go from
there.  But not to my eyes.

There might be better maps on other services - perhaps at the university
of ..... there.

Maps are tricky things - when Google came out with Earth - some
countries refused flyovers.
And they wouldn't allow release.   They saw it as an invasion and might
lead to giving up
information to the other side...  South America isn't a stable area in
many aspects.
