I have heard disturbing news that there is a law being considered in the
Philippines which would prohibit all commercial trade in mollusc
shells. Can anyone confirm this via URL links to news articles? There
are many Filipinos who would have their livilihoods gravely affected if
this is true, and if the Philippines gets to be as difficult to get
shells from as Australia, conchology as a whole will be diminished.

From another rainy (but warm!!) day in good old New Scotland,
Ross Mayhew.
