Thinking on the ban on collection by whom ever - if they ban collections like
me (person)
and allowed professional collectors like University and Museum / research groups
I would
think a population would live on and professional knowledge gained.

I'd think a collector badge from location - so your security badge is left
home. Have phone numbers
and group upon it. Just a thought for those with inputs to our political types
making laws.

If professionals don't study a site - and all perish in time - what was the use
of protection.

I think Fabio was thinking of poaching. e.g. this area has the xxxYYYzzz
species and they are worth 5000 pounds each.
Night divers start pulling out samples to sell on the black market. Just like
Tiger pelts or Elephant tusks.
Pressure of high profit brings out greed and blind eyes to regulations.

I don't known, but I suspect the Conus gloriamaris - Glory of the Seas cone
shell might be in this concept.
