FROM CEDARA HAVE ALSO HAVE DONE SOME EXCELLENT WORK IN THIS FIELD. WITH THE
ORIGINAL EVALUATION OF THE KERNEL NUMBER SIMULATION OF CERES MAIZE
WITH FIND A VERY LOW SENSITIvITY TO WATER STRESS DURING SILKING ON
KERNEL NUMBER. THE INTERESTING PART OF OUR STUDY WAS THAT THE AMOUNT
OF DAYS FROM SILKING TO LINEAR GRAINFIL SIGNIFICANTLY CORRELATED
WITH KERNEL NUMBER OF BOTH THE THE MAIN AND THE SECOND EAR. WE HAVE
INCLUDED THIS IN THE CALCULATION OF KERNEL NUMBER. WE HAVE REPLACED
THE ONE FUNCTION WITH SIX FUNCTIONS TO SIMULATE BOTH THE KERNEL
NUMBER OF THE FIRST AND SECOND EARS. THE DATA RANGE WE USED
CONSISTS OF YIELDS FROM 60 KG /HA UP TO 14000 KG /HA WITH ABOUT 20
CULTIVARS IN A COMBINATION OF TRIALS.
