Hi, Everyone!

I am working on a survey of the molluscs of Cheju Island, Korea. I am looking for some help with the following species:

1. Hastula verreauxi (Deshayes) What is the current status of this species? What is the date when it was described? Higo and Goto (1993) do not include it in their systematic list of molluscs from the Japan area.

2. Ruditapes philippinarum and R. variegatus. Those species are quite similar. What are the differences between them?

3. Gomphina veneriformis melanaegis and G. veneriformis veneriformis. What are the differences between them? Higo and Goto list them as synonyms of G. aequilatera (Sowerby, 1825).

I feel confident that the answers to those questions are out there in the list. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Conchologically yours,
Ron Noseworthy
