Cypraea also have problems with fading, particularly violet shades aroud
the base.  About the only way to keep the color is to keep the shell in
a freezer.  Of course, that makes it difficult to admire or show to
friendd.  We have had a number of collectors in Hawaii who had a freezer
dedicated to keeping their shells that fade.
