And the winner is...ARE....

Sorry for the delay. In the office here were are disappointed with the
minor interest generated by the "Shell of the month" contest. The winner
should get a golden cowry. Here are the results:

1. Harry G. Lee (4 april)
        "Solariella species, possibly un-named"
2. Paul R. Monfils (10 april)
        "Solariella canaliculata Smith ??
If so, I'll waive the prize - give the shell to the next in line"
3. Antonio J. Velasco Diez (24 may)
"I think the shell is Skenea basistriata (Jeffreys, 1877), isnīt it?"
4. Bouquet Harald (1 june)
"The ilustrated shell is a "Bathymophila nitens".
5. [log in to unmask] (11 june)
        "Umbilicate Margarite(Margarites umbilicatus)"
6. Emilio Jorge Power (17 june)
Looks to me like; Trochiumbilicatus tenerifensis PETUCH 1992
        Nice try, Ha!! Later,

Numer one and two, Harry and Paul both receive a golden cowry, just for
answering within the delay. The 3,4,5 and 6 all get a fine+ conus
cedonulli, because of their active participation.
We all recognise Emilio (even without the answer !!).

And nobody, with hundreds of conchologists around, knows which species this is.
Somewhere there is a problem. Are we all going to live with 40% of our
collections as "species" ?

Best, Guido
