I am late in replying, but my strategy to get micros is to use a stack of
sieve screens. I use one screen at a time to remove first the coarse
material; then I progress through finer stages. i use a stereoscopic
dissecting microscope for the fines and collect also the ostracoda, bryozoa,
forams, and an occasional sandworm tooth. Ward's Natural Science
Establishment ofers an economic set, but you need the geological set, not
the set for soil analysis.
