Also along the lines of finding unexpected shells...
In January, while we were shelling the south
shore of Nassau, Bahamas, on a deserted beach,
my niece brought in a shell. I had never seen
anything like it in my years of Bahamas shelling,
and thought I may have seen such a shell at dealers'.
I could not identify it on the spot , but when I got home to my
reference books easily found that it was a Delphinula
species - probably Angaria delphinus - from the Indo-Pacific !
