Dear Vicky at present I am living the DR and I don't know if there are any
restrictions on collecting mature conch shells, but i doubt it. When I
travel out of Las America's airport which serves Santo Domingo, on the
right hand side of the road just before the airport they are many local
shells for sale. Here they are selling Queen Conchs, some helmets, cowres,
fighting conchs and others. Good luck on your trip.

Hi Everyone,
I will be travelling to the Dominican Republic this spring and wondered if
anyone knows of any shelling restrictions there. I believe that queen
conchs are protected but I was hoping shelling would be allowed as it is
in other parts of the Caribbean. I would appreciate any input you might
have. Thanks so much,
