I have a large private collection from the 'South Pacific' -
I like to say mid Pacific - that of the date line and the equator.

Kwajalein Atoll. The following books are some of the primary resources
I used in sorting out our 400+ (to be expanded later by work) collection(s).

................
Coloured Illustrations of the Shells of Japan Tetsuaki Kira
Japan M. (shell society) Hoikusha Book in Japanese No number 1959

Shells of the Western Pacific in Color Vol. I
English edition of T. Kira Chairman of the Malacological Society of Japan
Hoikusha 1965

Shells of the Western Pacific in Color Vol. II
English edition of T. Kira Chairman of the Malacological Society of Japan
Hoikusha 1964
..............

The last time I looked, the English edition of Kira-san's books are on
Amazon.

We had the first book in Japanese for a number of years due to the
isolation of ourselves.
It remains a cornerstone resource. The English versions are expanded and
improved.

My 'loan' display shell set and my books are presently at the public
library. I'm proud to say
that the display brought a sectional front page on the collection and
being the show of the
summer. :-)

I'll add more of my books from time to time and I hope to be able to
help more.

I started collecting in 1963 and collection is composed of 11 years of
collecting at that site.
We just repacked the master storage collection (small U-Haul size) into
archive boxes.

And sadly, if I had the lettering post some of your names during those
years you might see
" Oliva carneola kwajaleinensis " under our family name. Since it was in
our hands prior to 1966. Such is life.
