The Material Safety Data Sheet - aka MSDS sheet created for the FED's
(EPA etc)
states Three chemicals and has nothing to say about silicone.
I suspect the silicone or the information you got was tainted by the
place it was
sprayed. Likely it was already silicone coated with a dry lube.

1. Aliphatic Petroleum Distillates 45-50%
2. Petroleum Base Oil 30-35%
3. LVP Hydrocarbon Fluid 12-18%
Non-Hazardous Ingredients <<10%

The LVP is Propane.
And I have never have seen the 'fish-eye' pattern in fluid or paint.

I don't think it should be used on shells the Petroleum hydrocarbons
might attack the color if any and the thin distillates might seep deep
into the shell and forever and a time smell of oil.

I use it sometimes if handy to cool and chill
