Andrew -
NZ - are there any reefs atop the mountain ridges there ?  I know about
the hiking path
and was wandering if you have reef limestone still existing (if it ever
did) after the great uplift!
Might be some NZ Fossils thereabouts.

Reefs exist all over the western states high mountains from the long
gone inland sea.
There is 400feet - 120 meters more or less of limestone in a layer under
Texas.
It is deep in Dallas and surfaces near Austin /  San Antonio who have
the great geysers from artesian wells.
Naturally they are world wide in nature.
