Hi everyone,

I've been doing some intermittent collecting these past few days here
near Pensacola, Florida. Here are a few things I've noticed that may
be of interest to the list.

The beaches are clean, and the critters look happy, but I don't know
if it will last. In grass beds on Santa Rosa Sound, I found Prunum
apicinum, Nassarius vibex, Anomalocardia cuneimeris, Laevicardium
mortoni and Costoanachis cf. avara. The latter two were very uncommon,
and always juvenile. There were large numbers of juveniles of N. vibex
and P. apicinum as well. I believe there was a die-off in 2008; in
June of that year, I remember finding large numbers of dead
Laevicardium mortoni in Santa Rosa Sound. Last month I checked a grass
bed where I had previously found Costoanachis cf. avara to be fairly
common. I found only one juvenile after 3 hours of collecting.

James
