ASTRONAUT TRAIL SHELL CLUB
Scholarship Committee
908 West Street
Laurel, Delaware
19956-1932
                                                                        September 4, 2010
  To Whom It May Concern,
The Astronaut Trail Shell Club is pleased to announce that we once again are able to provide scholarships for graduate students (masters or doctorate) in Marine Sciences at Florida’s public or private universities and colleges.
The study may be related to, but is not limited to marine, fresh water, or terrestrial mollusks.
This year there will be a total of $1500. available for scholarships. The Central Florida Shell Club has contributed five hundred dollars of this money to be awarded along with the one thousand dollars from the Astronaut Trail Shell Club.
An application form is available on the club web site: http://pw1.netcom.com/~ejpower/grants.html or may be obtained by mailing a request to the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship awards will be presented at the Shell Show Awards Banquet in January. The banquet is held at the
Patrick Air Force Base NCO Club, The Tides. Attendance at the banquet is not required. If a winner cannot attend,
the check will be mailed to the recipient following the award announcement. Winning students will be invited to
attend the banquet as guests of the club.
The Deadline this year is November 10th 2010
Successful applicants will be expected to provide a report on their work at its completion or earlier if appropriate.
The report may be made in the form of an oral presentation at a club meeting or as a written report for
the club’s newsletter, The Capsule.
Yours truly,
F. Matthew Blaine
Scholarship Chairman
