Records indicate that there was once a "National Capital Shell Club" that was
active for most of the 20th century. That club no longer exists.

I am wondering if there are enough shell collectors & even more
scientifically-minded malacologists who would be interested in starting a new
club in the Washington, DC area. For starters, what I have in mind are
informal gatherings with short presentations & information exchange & perhaps
field trips, rather than a dues-collecting formal club with officers, etc.

Following the trends of our times, even a facebook group may be a good way to
start organizing activities.

If interested, post replies.
