Dear Matt and members of the Astronaut Trail Shell Club and Central Florida Shell Club,

Thanks for your consistent support to marine science and malacology through your annual scholarship. As beneficiary of a 1988 (!) ATSC scholarship (as a graduate student at the University of Miami), I am a witness of the value (and longevity) of your most valuable program, which touched the lives of so many of us in Florida and beyond.

Kind regards,

José

Subject: [CONCH-L] The Winner of the 2012 Astronaut Trail Shell Club/Central Florida Shell Club Scholarship

Scholarship Committee
Astronaut Trail Shell Club
Announcing the winner for 2012

The winner for the 2012 grant of the Astronaut Trail Shell Club Scholarship in the amount of $1000 and the Central Florida Shell Club contribution of $500 totaling $1500 is Sahale Casebolt who is seeking a PhD at The University of Florida. Ms. Casebolt’s research thesis is titled, “Bivalve Diversity Patterns Across the Pacific Ocean”.
I also want to thank all of the members of the Astronaut Trail Shell Club and the Central Florida Shell Club who have worked hard to earn the money given in the form of a yearly scholarship. The money is primarily earned from the proceeds of our annual shell show which is held in January of each year. Without the efforts of our members there would be no ATSC/ CFSC Scholarship.

                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                F. Matthew Blaine
                                                                Chairman
