Ponsonby was a British  governor in a few countries in the then Empire. At
one time he was also a governor of Malta. He collected and sent the material
to the British Museum and other collectors e.g. Monterosato and Jeffreys.
Unfortunately, we do not have any of his material at our local Natural
History Museum.
