Dear Gary,
The late Rowland Ziegler had a black Oliva incrassata which he displayed at shell shows including
Jacksonville's in the late 1970's.
In the label he issued a caveat that read something like: "You'll never see one of these in nature;
this shell is ShinolaR-treated."
I'm rather sure Tucker Abbott saw this "specimen" on at least one occasion.
I can't easily reconcile the statement in his book that a black form "has been found" with what he
showed and discussed with me and others during those old-timey shell show festivities.
