I don't think that Murex tectumsinense Deshayes 1856 has nothing
common with squamosa. In the original paper by Deshayes two species
were described: M. tectumsinense and M. laceratum. The tectumsinense
description matches very well the figures given for M. laceratsu, so
many people suspected an exchange of drawings while composing plate
3 (see also CLEMAM database online). M. tectumsinense is indeed the
same as Babelomurex gili Kosuge, 1990.

Issue of the Cossignani' zine.
