This may sound like a ridiculous -- perhaps even rude -- question,
but...did Leslie Hubricht pass away on September 19, 2005 in
Meridian, MS?
I found two websites that refer to his passing -- http://
milkriverarchive.blogspot.com/2005/09/obt-leslie-hubricht.html and
http://ebeltz.net/herps/biogappx.html -- but the CONCH-L archives
have no mention of it from September or October of last year (and I
can't believe I would've missed it anyway), and I can't find
confirmation of it anywhere else. The local Meridian, MS, newspaper
apparently only allows obituary searches back to early April 2006, so
that's no help.
I'm rather stunned that so little mention was made of the passing of
a prominent North American malacologist, hence my incredulity over
the obituary notices I've seen.
Can someone please confirm or refute this? Thanks!
Cheers,
Andy
